It is a part of the Parappar River stream which later takes the name of Tevankarai Aar when it reaches the downhill. The surrounding undulating terrains that are swathed with dense forests form a picturesque backdrop of this waterfalls.

      Dolphin’s nose is a suitable place for trekking. The trail starts just after Panbar Bridge, where the descent to Dolphin’s Nose viewpoint takes about 1-1.5 hours. If exploring the culture of the locale arouses your curiosity, you may pay a short visit to the village of Vellagavi along the way. Rugged paths leads off from the main trail to the village or the nearby Pambar Falls. A smaller viewpoint, known as the Mountain Viewpoint , also falls  on the way, and you may stop here for a break from your trekking expedition.

  • Woolen clothing is a must, even if you go visiting during the peak summer time.
  • Prefer the bicycle as a mode of transport within the town as it is cheap, delightful and easily available.
  • Always remember to take the necessary cautionary tips from the locals before embarking on adventurous activities like trekking , horse riding, etc..,
  • Be overly careful, while visiting the Devil’s kitchen, which is dangerously deep, and unsuspecting travellers, if not accompanied by a guide or a local person, may end up committing fatal mistakes.
  • Avoid visiting the Green valley view( suicide point) before 10 AM or after 3 PM as during these odd hours, the valley normally tends to be covered with mist and therefore the visitor may not be able to fathom the deeps around. Be careful
